The Surveillance Audit Process
The Surveillance Audit Process
Surveillance audits are part of our continuous improvement process to ensure that certified companies are maintaining their HSE management systems during the period of certification.
Surveillance audits will be conducted as follows:
Surveillance audits will be conducted at the six-month interval for certified companies who were awarded certification for 1 year and at the one-year interval for companies who were awarded certification for 2 years.
Your surveillance audit must take place within 2 weeks of receipt of notification from the STOW Project Office.
The following criteria will be used to select companies for surveillance audits:
High risk companies with ≥ 10 non conformances.
Non-closure of legislative non-conformances
Repeated legislative non-conformances.
Complaints received from client companies on the HSE performance of a company.
Incidents in the public domain which are brought to the attention of the STOW Implementation Board.
Random selection by the STOW Project Office to ensure that companies not captured by the aforementioned criteria are considered for surveillance audits.
The company will be required to provide access to all sites and documentation for surveillance purposes.
Depending on the outcome of the audit, a decision may be taken to maintain, suspend or withdraw certification.
Refusal to comply with the requirements to conduct a surveillance audit can result in suspension or withdrawal of certification.
In preparation for the surveillance audit, you are required to provide by email to (Keina@energy.tt and Ayanna@energy.tt), the status of non-conformances from your last certification audit within 1 week of receipt of your notification email. The status will be verified during the surveillance audit.
Please ensure that documentation and records for your activities/site(s) similar to that provided for the last certification audit (e.g. maps, project descriptions, policies, procedures and other relevant documents) are available for the Assessor for the audit.
